On-Site Wave Solder Process Training

Thank you for an excellent Wave Solder Process class delivered on March 16-17, 2002 to fourteen of our engineers and technicians.

The class covered the science of wave soldering, both internal and external to the machine, along with all of its parameters. We were impressed with the breadth of knowledge displayed by your instructor on this subject matter as well as on our specific board problems.

These problems were recurring solder balls and bridging on many of our boards. We had made many attempts to address this problem to no avail. By using the Optimizer software to graph our immersion depth, you identified turbulence in our main wave.

Additional measurements taken with our Optimizer led your instructor to recommend changes that adjusted the backflow of the solder. This adjustment, along with rotating our boards by 180 degrees before production created a new process recipe that we will rely on for these particular boards.

We were extremely pleased with the entire presentation and found your suggestions related to our board issues to be of long term benefit to our production process. Thank you for a great course. We recommend your course to everyone who wants to improve their solder process.

Sincerely,
